Rachel Uchitel Pics: Tiger Woods Alleged Mistress

Here’s some previously unseen photos of Tiger Woods‘ alleged mistress, Rachel Uchitel.

(More previously unseen photos of Uchitel here)

Windermere (FL) Police Chief Daniel Saylor confirmed today that Woods had a “domestic issue” with wife Elin Nordegren late Thursday night - 48 hours after the NATIONAL ENQUIRER published a story that Woods was having an extramarital affair with Uchitel.

Michael Grange – Angling For A Mention In Iverson’s Hall Of Fame Speech

While Allen Iverson’s mooted retirement has been met with howls of protest from former coaches John Thompson and Larry Brown, the Globe & Mail’s Michael Grange refuses to join the chorus hailing the game’s most prolific small scorer. Calling Iverson “a minor NBA figure”, Grange castigates A.I. as having “thrived only if enough role players could be assembled to buy into his me-first version of basketball”.

Mets like Sheets upside...

The Mets took a very long look at Ben Sheets last year, eventually they ruled him out over concerns with his throwing shoulder. They were right to be cautious as Sheets lost the entire season as he recovered from arm surgery.
The Mets have begun to discuss the possibility of adding Sheets, according to Newsday, with the idea of snagging what could be a bargain off the market. Sheets is arguably the most prominent free-agent starter left now that Derek Lowe signed with Atlanta, but his Source: Mets Fever RSS Feed

McDaniels Taunted Chargers: ‘We Own You Guys’

Earlier today I posted that San Diego’s XPRS-AM radio reporter Marty Caswell reported there was a rumor going around Invesco Field in Denver that Broncos Coach Josh McDaniels had “taunted” the Chargers linebackers before the Broncos lost to San Diego 32-3.

Chargers Linebackers Shawne Merriman and Stephen Cooper confirmed to Caswell after the game that McDaniels had indeed taunted them, with the coach reportedly saying to the San Diego linebackers group, “We own you guys.”

Chances slim of Byrd returning to the Rangers

I completed a post on Marlon Byrd, here.
While not being the most appealing candidate, if Bay and Holliday go else where he maybe the best of whats left. Byrd has been in talks with the Rangers since the end of the season but it does not appear that they will be able to negotiate a contract...
"We've had a decent amount of conversation," Daniels said. "I expect them to test the market. Based on what they're looking for...we're not in a position to do that right now. We expect them Source: Mets Fever RSS Feed

Thierry Henry’s Responsibility

In my piece yesterday, I discussed all of the reasons that Ireland’s potential qualification was better for World Football than France’s would be. I detailed my reasoning without any mention that a group of hard working custodians of the game should not be denied by a group of talented but unsporting cheats. But that is what ended up being the net result of the match on Wednesday.  (Aiden McGeady is the one Ireland player we will exempt from this comparison)

What's Working for the Raptors

Ron Turenne/NBAE via Getty Images
Chris Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu have the Raptors scoring buckets in bunches.
The hazards of small sample size theater run rampant during the opening weeks of any sports season. Look no further than the efficiency numbers of Paul Davis and Acie Law if you want an idea of how a tiny data set can skew results.
That being the case, it's hard to look at Toronto's top-ranked offense through nine games (113.7 points per 100 possessions) and Source: ESPN RSS Feed

Mets still searching for a bench manager...

The Mets still haven't settled their coaching staff, originally it was reported that Razor Shines would no longer be the 3B coach but he'd have a role somewhere on the team. But with Alomar Jr. moving to 1B, Chip Hale coming in at 3B and the Mets apparently seeking a new bench coach, that leaves Shines as the fifth coach which is usually the catching coach for teams that carry five. If Shines gets moved to the minors and the Mets hire a bench coach with prior major league managerialSource: Mets Fever RSS Feed

Sports Hinder Boys’ Good Habits, But Help Girls’?

It probably wouldn’t come as that much of a surprise that boys who play sports in high school were more likely than their non-sporting counterparts to engage in bad habits (full disclosure: football here, fightin’, no drankin’); after all, these were the meatheads of the class, the jackasses that ended up in jackass jobs like “policeman.”* We’re not saying athletes were in worse shape or anything - that’s clearly not the case - but that they binge drank and fought moreSource: SPORTSbyBROOKS RSS Feed

Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady, Can You Dig It?

One’s funny in commercials; the other makes ladies swoon. Both are top 10 quarterbacks of all-time. Sunday night, the Patriots visit the unbeaten Colts. Ratings should dwarf whatever the Kardashian crap does. It will be only Indy’s third game this season against a team with a winning record (Arizona, Houston). If you’re a stathead looking for a breakdown of their careers, we’ve found the link for you. [Indy Star]

Chelsea 1-0 Man United: Ugly Match Exposes United’s Frailties

This was one of those Premier League matches that had a draw written all over it that was crying out for just one decent attempt to puncture the dull game. And it finally came three-quarters into the match where John Terry headed the ball into the corner of the net.

Yet again, Sir Alex Ferguson put out a defensive minded team that played very cautiously with Wayne Rooney often up front on his own. Ferguson did the same against Liverpool at Anfield recently, and you have to wonderSource: EPL Talk RSS Feed

Dodgers outfield situation...

Because the Dodgers outfield situation could impact the Mets in several different ways, I wanted to recap several points of interest that have occurred the last 24 hours.
The biggest item is Manny Ramirez will exercises his 20M player option and return to the Dodgers for the 2010 season ( source LA Times).
Not only is Ramirez out of the mix for the Mets left field job but he has also more then likely blocked the Dodgers from engaging in the Holliday sweepstakes. Matt Holliday had Source: Mets Fever RSS Feed

Yes, It’s McCourt Divorce Hearing Proceedings Eve

You don’t see family members go at each other in a high-profile court case like this in Los Angeles since the Chandlers gave up the LA Times. So nostalgic. Yes, the epic struggle for control of the Dodgers begins on Thursday, as Frank McCourt and Jamie McCourt square off to contest assets in their divorce. “Who needs two? Got tickets in the second row, middle, right opposite the bailiff. Who needs tickets?” “Red hots! Get your Dodger Dogs!”

Of course Jamie McCourt isSource: SPORTSbyBROOKS RSS Feed

In partnership with Russian Football Now, EPL Talk presents the twelfth episode of RNF’s podcast.

Russian football may have gotten off to a shaky start in the 2009-10 Champions League, but the last two weeks have seen a measure of redemption.
